Teri "Lyric" Green
Take The Stage Webseries Finalist
I literally went from Orphan to Engineer, emancipating from Jane Adams Hull House at the age of 21.
With an unfortunate hand being dealt, I was and still am inspired by poets such as Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni, Indie Arie, and Lauren Hill.I read their stories and realize life doesn't end because of tragedy.
Life is based on choices. My past gives me the fuel to succeed and strive to be better than what others perceive me to be.
My favorite quote is "It's not where you come from, but where you decide to go".
I've mixed my love for technology, writing, and music to create a sound that is unique. My music is defined with truth, passion, pain, and love, and I tell the stories that only are within me.
My poems are like testaments, and as I preach I entertain.
When asked what helps me define my name, I say I am the voice of the unheard that refuses to be silent; I am the strength for the weak who has no clue how to fight back. I am softly crafted words formulated together creating Lyric.
