ioi, the intransigence of inanimate objects
This is my first film shot on 16mm. It was done during a film course in Montreal as en exercise in image and sound design. The course not focusing on screen writing, but rather on technical aspects, such as camera, video editing, sound editing, lighting and production.
In a team of 7 we had 12 hours to mount (pre created sets) , light and shoot the film. The school provided the film gear and studio, we took care of actors, costumes and sets.
I designed the sets, directed and created the soundtrack for the film.
We had not sync sound, so I wrote a short which would be visually interesting and which could fit without dialogue. That is why it is set in the 1920's Egypt. The whole idea behind the story is that "inanimate objects" play with or against the characters...
