Continuing the almost Halloweenish psychedelic theme (and using the 'on the road' video from our end of the summer roadtrip) here are a few more avant-garde improv pieces. "Mean And Evil Streets" "Foul Moods" and "Stick & Stones" ('stick' just to be weird[er]); a strange world between reality and a psychedelic cartoon landscape.
Mean And Evil Streets: As we drove down the road I thought about how truly dangerous the roads are, and how unforgiving accidents can be. People seem to take the privilege of driving for granted and forget the harsh reality of the streets and the multi-ton vehicles that drive them at high speeds like destructive weapons. I've known far too many killed in accidents to ever take driving lightly (I'm like an old man lecturing here, but come one people, pay attention on the road!)
Foul Moods: I get a in foul mood when I think about the continuation of nuclear energy. As a technology it's an amazing thing, and certainly useful, but as to how we deal with it in most countries it's a total disaster. Piles and piles of nuclear waste being buried in mountains and deserts. It seems illogical to produce something that we don't know how to get rid of, and that doesn't break down for many thousands of years (and it's not just nuclear, how about all the damn plastic and other chemicals?) While we all need energy, and most of us enjoy the fruits of technology, at some point we must face the fact that we're poisoning ourselves for convenience (and business! Can't forget that!) At what point do we want to sacrifice some of our conveniences for clean air and water?
Stick & Stones: This was more of the Halloween-type theme. Most of the shots are just nature shots from a park on Lake Michigan (and featuring a black cat for cliche!) So it is basically a psychedelic tour along the lake for Halloween (and yes, I am indeed a freak!)
Thanks for taking the time to watch and listen!
