YOBIFilm Season 2
Week 1 Semifinalist

Hello, I'm Bhaveek Makan and I'm 18 years old. I was born in Durban, South Africa but due to high crime, I moved to Canada. After living in the province of Newfoundland for 6 years, I realized I had a passion for filmmaking. It started of as a hobby but then it started to grow. I now live in Alberta and filmmaking for me has become part of my life. I'm a first year science student right now and I plan to do Optometry. If I'm left lost with this goal, then film is for me.

Rendering Glint Films started as a collaboration production. This is networking with other young film makers around the world without ever meeting them in person. It started in 2007 on YouTube where I decided to create an account where some users could collaborate in short films and other projects. Many films have been made since then and you can check them out on www.youtube.com/renderingglintfilms

Thank you to all you guys for voting!

Description

A short film about a guy who goes through paranoia when he takes scientific studies too seriously.** University scene was done in one take and all in one attempt. Harsh weather conditions made this scene hard to refilm.** Film took many months to do since our parents...well...didn't want us filming. We had to "Take life seriously". We pretty much lied to our parents just so we could film maybe 1 scene in a certain amount of time. Deadlines were our goals...we had so little time to do whatever. In fact, I think that just may be the art of this film.** Most of the music (Beginning theme music and end tense bassline) was done by Jashan and Bhaveek Makan. The radio scene was voiced by Bhaveek Makan and the song featured is a friend of Bhaveek's. His name is Caprice and is an indie malaysian artist. The song featured is "Fantasy Girls".** Homework is also a large contributor to our filmmaking schedules. I (Bhaveek Makan) am a science student. Bhavesh Chauhan is graduating from high school this year and planning to do Engineering. For us Indians, its either medicine, architecture, or engineering. There will still be many films to come...we will just try to maneuver our way past our parents dictations ;)

The "thing" at the end is NOT a lighter...it was supposed to be a gun...but we did not have any toy guns so we made one out of paper. Please excuse this =)

why do people believe what they told and not why they see or feel, people get mind controled by their own minds.

Yeah okay my last comment was kind of a joke, but this one is serious, this movie was actually pretty sick. The ending was kinda like, okay, but the scene in the news with the shooting was very well done.
