Both residents of Austin, Texas, Trevor Mills and David Bristol originally crossed paths working at an oppressive credit card company and then lost touch for years after Trevor quit. In 2009, they ran into eachother again via Facebook and began collaborating on goofy film experiments with a borrowed-to-own video camera. (Thanks, Larry Davis!)
David was originally born at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California. His comedic influences are his father "who could have been a great comedian except that he was a stockbroker and comedy wasn't much of his everyday life...but I tell ya, he was the funniest person I've ever known." Other influences include the late, great George Carlin--the man he credits with how he became a "hippy-dippy biker"-- and John Murphy, the father of one of his best friends.
Trevor originally hails from Camp LeJeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. (Why David and Trevor feel compelled to mention the military bases they were born on remains a complete mystery) His comedic influences are Monty Python, The Upright Citizens Brigade, Sarah Silverman, The Young Ones, French and Saunders, Wanda Sykes, Zach Galifianakis, Kathy Griffin, Will Ferrell, and scores of others. And while he's met none of his heroes in person, he did have the privilege of chatting with comedian Will McLaughlin on Facebook recently about people who experience catharsis in movie theaters...
Trevor: Remember that scene in 'The Abyss' where Bud won't give-up on administering CPR to his hypothermic ex-wife, and he's slapping her and going, "Fight, Lindsay! Fight! Fight!" ? A homely woman sitting in the theater seat in front of me yelled at Ed Harris to shut up.
Will: I don't mind the talking in the theater if you're unintentionally hilarious. Like the elderly church lady in [the theater] who while crying said "Oh Powder....Why you got to be like that?"
All told, David and Trevor would just like to thank all of you who have voted for our video week-after-week and, come what may, you'll always have our gratitude. Yobi puts on one hell of a fun contest.
