Celestial Nightlight

Silent and beautiful, its there everynight. Indirectly refelecting light from the sun, it softly illuminates the earth in its unmistakable glow. I took this picture while driving, yes driving. I find myself look up at the moon from time to time and I begin to wonder about all those things which I know nothing of that lies only miles above us every day. This particular day I remember it was almost dusk and I had pulled up to a long stop light. I looked up and jit was there, beautiful and big and clear. Luckilly I had my camera and my 300mm lens. I was pleased with the shot due to the fact that it was actually much lighter outside than what the image shows. The moon is a hard subject to catch, its always moving however so slow. Most cameras will wash out the craters, details, and make the overall image look like a white ball of light. It is within this circumstance that a steady camera with the correct shutter speed and aperature will prevail with the desired outcome. Don't be afraid to play with you settings, you may just surprise yourself. Afterall, we live in a digital world, just hit delete.
