God Was Here

I took this photo at Regent Park before the revitalization process. This building is now demolished to make way for new development.
Regent Park is a complex of subsidized housing in downtown Toronto, which first was planned and built in the fifties at the height of modernism. It proved to be a failure due to its architecture and planning. It is now going under a massive revitalization plan that aims to solve many of these problems and provide a better living standard for its residence.
There is something profound about what is written and where it was. When I visited Regent Park the buildings were poorly kept, the grass was not green and the walls of many buildings were covered in graffiti. And I can't help but to think about the person who wrote this. What did he/she really mean?
