YOBIPics Season 2
Week 6 Semifinalist

Thank you to everyone who supported me through your votes in this contest. Please keep in touch through my facebook page or through my website

I'm here, to share a perspective about the way the world can be, if one just dares to imagine.

Supporting a photographer with a desire to engage the minds of its viewers is easy. All you have to do is vote for my entry. Thank you greatly, for your support.

My name is Julie. I am a restless photographer, artist, architect & wanderer.

Everyday, I imagine what I want to do with this life. I capture moments through my camera. I design spaces of physical and mental proportions. I question what is real, and what can be a better reality.

My greatest desire is to connect with people. A connection through a thought, is the most simplest manifestation of this. A connection through collaboration & creation is the most complex but rewarding manifestation of this.

If you look at any of my pieces, and it makes you stop to think for one second more than usual, then my intention has been fulfilled.

If you support my work through your votes, it means you are supporting a person:

- who is passionate about new ideas, places and experiences.

- who takes risks, for the reward of understanding the world in a new way.

- who desires to use photography as an active way to bring awareness to many issues that concern our society, culture and the natural and manmade environment.

Supporting me means that you are voting for an active voice in the medium of photography.

My collections aim to engage the imagination of viewers and allow them mentally participate in the virtual creation of spatial constructs that are derived from real environments. I also enjoy telling stories of places with my work, and for people to imagine a reality outside of what they are use to.

I like to experiment with my camera and have recently developed a body of work that captures light through time and movement in various architecture and urban spaces. This collection of work named Human Light is aimed to stimulate the imagination in the way we perceive and experience architecture and the built environment.

I also use the camera to test the limits of the spaces and people around me. I desire to maintain a dignity of a place through my photographs. It is important for me to understand the essence of a place and thus I try to capture this essence through photos during my travels.

I hope one day to exhibit my work, and allow for people to feedback into my process as well. I gain joy from hearing what other people's perspectives/reactions are to my work. If anything, it gives me insight into their own worlds, and allows me to connect to them in a deeper way.

Julie, you have my vote next week as I'm sure you'll still be in the finals. I already voted for Steve this week. (don't let anyone know that I can't ignore their vote request if they ask nicely) Joking aside, your photo has always been on my top pics list. You have extreme talent!
