Week 30 Semifinalist

Hi, I live in a small community around a small lake in Idaho called Hauser Lake.  It has been my home for over 30 years.  Before that, I lived in Fresno and Ventura California and moved to Idaho thinking we would escape the drug problems that our two children were being confronted with.  Well, we learned that drug problems are global, and there is no escaping them.  My son remained drug free and doesn't even smoke, but our daughter got mixed up with the wrong people, and started doing drugs like pain pills and we ended up losing her last month due to overdosing on inhalents that killed her brain.  In her last days, she didn't know anyone and would only stare.  Her brain stem was OK as her breathing and heart were strong.  We miss her dearly and know that she is in heaven as she was a strong believer. 

I love photography, and started while I was in the Navy back in 1957 with a Kodak Retina 3C camera.  Landscapes is what I enjoy most, and my hobby was asleep for many years untll digital cameras entered the scene.  I bought a Sony DSC505V and fell in love with my hobby again.  The instant gratification was amazing.  Today I own a Nikon D300, D700 and a collection of fine professional glass and love photography more than ever.

This is a panorama I took from the State Highwayt 95
overlook after dark.  The pulp mill looks like it is on fire from the
steam rizing from the mill lighted by orange secutity lights. This was taken with my Nikon D300 with 70 200 2.8 @ 70mm.   You can
