Bennie Williams - Friends Forever
TheLittlestMarine
I wrote this song for two of my closest friends, who had been best friends with each other since before I came around. One of them was preparing to leave for two years, so I tried to write from the perspective of the other, and capture what he was feeling at the time.
"Friends Forever"
We were just two kids
Beneath the summer air
Sharing everything two kids could share
Coolin’, hangin’ outside
And school - what a waste of time
Just hop the fence and we're free
Come on kid just you and me
We'll take the world on together
And we'll be friends forever
And we'll be friends forever
We'd drive for hours at times
No destination in mind
But every moment was full of such life
We'd laugh we'd smile and we'd sing
Never knowing what time might bring
And never caring 'cause we'd always be
The kind of friends that would stick
Whether mad, unhappy or sick
Always be there for each other
'Cause we'd be friends forever
Oh we'd be friends forever
So now I sit here at home
Thinking back on days almost gone
And I can't help but to a bit sad
Really not sure what to do now
How to make it two years alone
Holding on to the memories that you and I had
But I'll tell you what now it seems
Though the past just feels like a dream
There is one thing that's clear as summer weather
We will be friends forever
We will be friends forever
Oh we'll be friends forever
