I wrote this song about an American girl I once met in Italy. Im from Scotland and I met her in Florence, Italy, one beautiful sunny day in 2003. We met one evening when she came to the bar I was working in. She came in with a crowd of her friends that she was touring Italy with. I made them some classic cocktails and I began to notice this one girl. We ended up in the nightclub and had a great night. Something happened that evening and we spent the rest of the summer together, she left her friends to tour Italy and stayed with me. The rest, as they say, is history.

Then, the summer ended and she had to return to the USA. This song is dedicated to her, and also to all those people who fall for an American girl.
