I (Ira) have been playing piano since I was 7 and guitar since I was 11. Now, at 17, I'm writing songs left and right. I've always listened to music of all kinds such as rock, indie, hip-hop/r&b, reggae, classical, jazz, etc....all of which influences my own writing. Heat Roc is a friend I met at school last year, who I now know is an insightful and intelligent lyricist/rapper and performer, and has been so for years as well. As for the song in the video, we had both written our own parts prior to having met one another. One day, he heard me play the instrumental part and sing the hook, and he asked if he could just try rapping over it with something he had, and it fit perfectly...Now we perform together occasionally.
